The Inaugural New Zealand Schools China Familiarization Trip
17 – 26 May 2026 : Beijing ▸ Chengdu ▸ Shanghai
Since the early 1990s, AEAS has supported Australian schools to connect with quality education agents and international families across key source markets through our in-country exhibitions and agent workshops. These annual events offer invaluable opportunities for schools to share their stories, build meaningful relationships, and inspire confidence in families considering an overseas education for their children.
In 2026, New Zealand schools can also benefit from AEAS’s proven, professional approach – with this inaugural initiative tailored specifically for your sector.
Whether you’re new to international student recruitment or seeking to expand and deepen your engagement in China, this trip offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and gain valuable market insights.
The whole experience across the 4 cities was fantastic. The organisation and information provided by AEAS was excellent. This includes prior to departure and during the events themselves. Thank you all!
Very well organised. Thanks to the team – a well oiled machine and we have been grateful for all the support. Lots of valuable conversations!

Engage China with AEAS in 2026
Schools participating in AEAS events benefit from our extensive experience in event planning and execution, with comprehensive support provided before, during, and after each event. Beyond logistical support, participants gain access to:
- Economies of scale not possible for individual school efforts
- Targeted marketing exposure in high-potential regions
- Increased brand visibility through consolidated sector promotion
AEAS events connect schools directly with highly motivated families, offering more meaningful, cost-effective engagement than broader, multi-sector events. As international parents begin planning their children’s education earlier, schools must establish multiple touchpoints to build credibility and trust over time. AEAS delivers these touchpoints through focused, face-to-face interactions.
With nearly 30 years of leadership in this market, AEAS is a highly respected brand across China, supported by long-standing market relationships and our permanent office in Beijing. Our reputation and local presence open doors that few others can.
Who is AEAS?
AEAS is the leading provider of high-quality, internationally-recognised English language and ability assessments for school-aged students from non-English speaking backgrounds seeking entry into Australian and New Zealand schools. With over 40 years of experience, AEAS Reports are trusted by schools to help identify international and EAL/D students’ readiness for entry and support tailored learning plans.
AEAS works closely with schools, families, and agents to ensure students are well-prepared to thrive in English-speaking learning environments. Our comprehensive testing covers English proficiency, mathematical reasoning, and general ability, and helps schools make informed admissions decisions. In Australia, over 80% of schools registered to enrol international students use the AEAS Report as a key component of their admissions process. Since the introduction of the literacy and numeracy co-requisites as a pathway to NCEA with UE in New Zealand, a rapidly growing number of New Zealand schools have also introduced AEAS Testing.
