Friday 13 December 2024

2024 has been a year of consolidation and growth for the school sector. The quality of our Australian schools is second to none, and studying at school level has always provided international students with a smoother pathway into the most highly sought after higher education institutions and courses, which is a key reason our sector was to be made exempt from the National Planning Levels. Despite much uncertainty in international education, schools have continued to provide excellent educational experiences for the almost 18,000 international students in their care.

It has been a very busy year for the AEAS team, delivering a record 34 events for Australian schools. This translates to 190 hours of parent and agent engagement across eight countries, travelling over 100,000km in the process. We thank all of the schools, education agencies, parents and students that joined us at events in 2024, and we hope to see more of you join us next year.

In 2025, we look forward to many things, including receiving greater clarity about the future of Australia’s international education industry, and what that looks like for the school sector. More importantly however, we are excited to be celebrating AEAS’ 40th birthday. Forty years of delivering high quality services for international school students, their families, schools and education agencies like yours is cause for celebration. We hope you can mark this special occasion with us during the year.

Even though our office in Melbourne will close for a short, but very well-earned break from 12.00pm on Tuesday 24 December until 9.00am on Thursday 2 January, AEAS Testing continues in many locations around the world. Please advise families and agents to check aeas.com.au for more information on available test sessions in their location.

We wish those of you who celebrate a very Merry Christmas, and everyone a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous new year. We look forward to seeing you throughout the course of 2025.
