Why should my agency participate?

Despite a recent drop in enrolments and commencements, Vietnam remains the second largest source market for Australian schools. While many Vietnamese families have historically preferred government schools, there is now a clear shift in interest toward Australia’s private school sector as families begin to gain a deeper understanding of the differences in quality, care, and student outcomes.

Government schools in Australia continue to offer strong academic programs, but private schools often provide smaller class sizes, broader co-curricular offerings, specialist academic support, and a highly personalised approach to student wellbeing. These are key priorities for Vietnamese parents preparing their children for university pathways — especially those aiming for Group of Eight institutions or overseas degrees.

In Australia, almost 40% of domestic families choose private schools — the highest proportion in the OECD. This is a strong indicator of the value placed on the education, community, and future opportunities that private schools provide.

At the same time, competitor destinations are facing growing challenges. The UK has introduced a 20% VAT on private school fees, Canada has imposed strict national and provincial caps on study permits, and the US continues to tighten visa scrutiny, particularly for younger students. These shifts are pushing many families in Vietnam to reconsider their options — and to look more seriously at Australia as a stable, high-quality, and better-value destination for school-aged study.

With many Vietnamese families already paying international school fees in Vietnam that exceed those of top Australian private schools, there is strong financial capacity — and growing appetite — to explore these world-class options.

This face-to-face workshop gives your agency the opportunity to connect directly with admissions staff and senior representatives from leading Australian private schools. You’ll receive the most current information on school entry, visa processing changes (including Ministerial Direction 111), and what families need to know to secure a place for Semester 1 / Term 1 2026 and beyond.

If your agency is serious about growing its K-12 schools business in Australia, now is the time to strengthen your expertise and build lasting relationships with schools that value trusted agent partnerships.
