Test Information for Education Agents

What is the AEAS test?

The AEAS Test is designed specifically for school aged students, and assesses English language and learning standards of students from primary years through to senior secondary years.

AEAS works with experts such as the Language Testing Research Centre at the University of Melbourne in relation to test specifications and test development. Our tests meet the highest international standards, with the reliability and validity of our test materials well established.

Why should students sit the AEAS Test?

For over 35 years, students from around the world have taken the AEAS Test as the leading pathway to apply to and enrol in the best Australian Schools. Students can also sit the AEAS Test when applying to study at English medium schools and international schools around the world.

Schools trust the results and rely on the AEAS Report to help them provide the best support for the international students they are enrolling. The AEAS Report presents accurate and valid information on students’ abilities.

Parents can arrange testing before they have chosen a school, with the results helping them to understand which schools may be the best match for their child.  Many schools require an AEAS Report as part of their application and entry requirements. Sitting the AEAS Test early in the planning process will support timely applications to schools.

Why should agents refer students for AEAS testing?

Education agents are encouraged to refer students for testing, as the AEAS Report is a valuable resource for their counselling discussions with families.
