Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is defined as “a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we:

  • Perceive and express ourselves
  • Develop and maintain social relationships
  • Cope with challenges
  • Use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way”.

The overall result of well developed emotional intelligence is healthy emotional and social functioning, which is linked to an individual’s well being and happiness.  The assessment of emotional intelligence enables the identification of areas for development in the workplace across the following domains:

  • Well being
  • Leadership
  • Performance
  • Teamwork
  • Organisational transitions and change

The EQ-i 2.0 can also assist in the recruitment process to identify applicants that are more likely to have the skills required for particular roles.

The EQ-i 2.0 and the EQ 360 2.0 are well researched, valid and reliable instruments that enable individuals and organisations to predict and improve human performance.  The EQ-i 2.0 is a self report questionnaire while the EQ360 2.0 is a multi rater questionnaire completed by co-workers, supervisors, managers or significant others.  It is suitable for individuals 18 years of age and older.
